Bertha A. Lopez Obituary (1956

Bertha A. Lopez, 64 of Waukegan, passed away on February 14, 2021. Bertha met her husband Jesus Sr. in the Fiestas Patrias of Waukegan, where she was running for Queen. They married shortly after on Valentine’s day, February 14, 1977. She worked for over 20 years as a Librarian specialist for Abbott Labs, where she was able to travel all over the world. She had a vivacious smile, always dancing and laughing. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother too. She is survived by her beloved husband, Jesus H. Lopez, Sr.; two children Jesus (Reina) Lopez Jr., John Sebastian (Grisel) Lopez; 13 grandchildren Magdalena, Jazalynn, Alissa, Celia, Jesus III, Elias, Gianna, Jailene, Aneesia, Juliano, Christian, Elijah, and Sophia Lopez. Her visitation will be held on Friday, February 19, 2021 at 10:00 am at Peterson & Patch Funeral Home, 408 N. Sheridan Road, Waukegan, IL 60085. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with Father Jim Merold officiating. Burial will follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery. For more information, please call, 847-623-0495.
