John "Johnny" Angelos Obituary (1950

John “Johnny” Angelos, 67, passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at his home surrounded by his daughters following a brief battle with cancer. He was born November 28, 1950 and was raised in Zion. He joined the Army and served at Fort Leavenworth as a Military Police Officer. He then returned to Lake County to join the Waukegan Police Department where he retired after 30 years of service. John loved to hunt, fish, play cribbage and spend time with his friends. John is survived by his daughter, Rachel (Darrell) Wiatrowski and their sons, Rylan and Reece; his daughter, Kari (Tim) Knight and their daughters, Ava and Elle; his sister Judith (David) Larsen; his brother, Frank R. (Christine) Angelos; his brother, Thomas C. (Joy) Angelos and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Frank John Angelos and his mother, Lucille Julia (nee Welter) Angelos. Family, friends, and others whose lives John touched are invited to visitation from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Monday, April 16, 2018 at PETERSON & PATCH FUNERAL HOME 408 N. Sheridan Rd. Waukegan with a memorial service starting at 3:00 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of John Angelos may be made to the Waukegan Police Association, PO Box 8501 Waukegan, Illinois 60079.
