Loverne G. Couvall

February 8, 1937 - January 2, 2022

Loverne G. Couvall entered into eternal life on January 2, 2022. Loverne was a lifelong resident of North Chicago and Waukegan and a proud member of St Demetrois Greek Orthodox Church. Her culture and faith have always remained an important and a constant source of guidance and support. Loverne more than anything loved her family. She was raised along with her seven siblings by her loving parents who were her foundation and everlasting strength. Loverne graduated from Waukegan Holy Child High School in 1954. After high school she worked at Couvall’s Food Market in Waukegan where she played an instrumental part in the family business. From 1964 to 1997 she worked as a clerk at the Lake County Court House. During that time, she was a devoted member of the Daughter’s of Penelope Foundation where she participated in many philanthropic endeavors. Loverne spent many memorable years strolling the beach in Marco Island, Florida and enjoying her home in Waukegan. She recently moved to Chicago where she enjoyed the sights of Lake Shore Drive and dining at a variety of downtown restaurants. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Georgia and Anthony Couvall, her siblings Thersea Karigan, Theofane Patterson and Peter Couvall. Brother in laws, William Mitchell, Frank Karigan, George Patterson, and Nick Rendzipers and her sister-in-law Donna Couvall. She will be dearly missed by her siblings, Edna Mitchell, Patricia (Nick) Rendizeperis, George (Jackie) Couvall and James (Janet) Couvall. Loverne was loved by many nieces, nephews who were all impacted by her charm, wit and straight forward sense of humor. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Saint Demetrois Greek Orthodox Church at 12:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 1:00. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Demetrois Greek Orthodox Church in Libertyville, Illinois.
