Melvin J Toyra Obituary (1932

Melvin J. Toyra, 84, of Waukegan passed away on Monday, June 20, 2016 at the Terrace Nursing Home in Waukegan. He was born April 14, 1932 in Negaunee, Michigan and came to Waukegan in 1950 and remained a longtime resident. Melvin served in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954 and retired from Johns Mansville in 1994 after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Homer Dahringer American Legion Post 281, Chain O Lakes Model A Club and 2E Wisconsin Antique Power and Collectibles Society. Melvin married Charlotte Johnson on April 25, 1953 who preceded him in death in 1998. He is survived by his children, Robert Toyra of Chicago, David (Patricia) Toyra of Gurnee, Peter Toyra of Waukegan; grandsons, Sean, Thomas and Colin Toyra; brothers, Richard (Nancy) Toyra of Marquette, Michigan, William Toyra of Rock, Michigan and several nieces and nephews. Melvin is also preceded in death by his parents, John and Olga Toyra. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM on Friday, June 24, 2016 at Peterson & Patch Funeral Home 408 N. Sheridan Rd. Waukegan. Entombment will be at Northshore Garden of Memories in North Chicago. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Peterson & Patch Funeral Home and from 10:00 AM to time of service on Friday.
