Michael Frank Dizzonne

February 28, 1941 - May 22, 2021

Michael Frank Dizzonne, 80, of Zion, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, May 22, 2021. Michael was born in Chicago on February 28, 1941 to Frank and Angeline Dizzonne (nee Pisano). Michael attended University of Illinois at Chicago and Roosevelt University where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Masters’ Degree in Education. He was a loving husband and dad. He was known for his generosity, kindness, dedication, poetic way with words, and sense of humor. He had many jobs which he enjoyed; he was a ballroom instructor and taught at the local community college for many years. He also worked at Six Flags and at the Field Museum in Chicago. He later worked as a psychometrist technician for 46 years at the VA Hospital where he met the love of his life, Phyllis Dizzonne (nee Hanrahan). They married in 1978 and had four children. Michael is survived by his children Anthony, Kimberly, and Angela Dizzonne; his grand-doggy, Gizmo; grandchildren Alexis and Anthony Jr.; extended family and countless friends. He is preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Phyllis, his son Christopher Dizzonne and both parents. Michael will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched. His visitation will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 beginning at 9:00 am at Peterson & Patch Funeral Home, 408 N Sheridan Road, Waukegan. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10655 W Wadsworth Road, Beach Park, IL 60099. Interment will follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville.
