Nicholas A. Camacaris

September 20, 1934 - May 31, 2016

Camacaris Nicholas A. Camacaris, 81, of Beach Park passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born September 20, 1934 in Waukegan and was a lifelong area resident. Nicholas was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church where he served as parish council president from 1978-1979, 2007-2008 and served on the board for many years. He was a member of the Homer Dahringer American Legion Post 281, was an avid fisherman, had a love for reading, enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, and having coffee with his good friends. Nicholas retired from Trammell Crow at McGaw Park in Waukegan at the age of 74 after over 40 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sandra (nee Redmond) Camacaris of Beach Park; daughters, Ellen (Tim) Mauer of Libertyville, Julie Camacaris of Gurnee, Susan (Michael) Muntean of Mundelein; grandchildren, Kate and Nick Mauer; brother, William (Sharon) Camacaris of Waukegan; sisters, Tess (the late Nick) Petropoulos of Waukegan, Theodora (Nick) Xenos of Ohio and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Nicholas was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Helen (nee Conopeotis) Camacaris and nephew, Alex Petropoulos. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, June 3, 2016 at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church 1400 N. O’Plaine Rd. Libertyville, Illinois 60048. Interment will be at Northshore Garden of Memories in North Chicago. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, June 2, 2016 with the Trisagion services being held at 7:00 PM at the PETERSON & PATCH FUNERAL HOME 408 N. Sheridan Rd. Waukegan.
