Roger Elvis Sakach Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Roger Elvis Sakach, 85, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 9th, 2021. Roger was born on June 9th, 1935 in Stanley, Wisconsin but grew up in Waukegan, Illinois. He graduated from Waukegan High School in 1953 and was drafted into the Army in 1958 where he served 4 years. After the service he went to work for Johns Manville where he worked until he retired in 1992. He enjoyed watching sports and was a devoted Cubs fan. He waited 70 years to see them win the World Series and was thrilled when they finally won. He was also a diehard Chicago Bears fan. He loved sharing stories about his childhood trips to the Cubs games and how he served in the Army with Elvis Presley. Roger had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his son Randy (Michelle) Sakach, Janet (Christopher) Dean, granddaughter Cortney (Kyle Williams) Dean, grandson Kyle Dean and great-granddaughter, Ava Grace Williams. Two brothers, Doug (Gloria) Camarato and Jim (Sandy) Camarato, as well as his aunt, Florence Phillips and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Beatrice Camarato, John Sakach and stepfather Joe Camarato, as well as his brother Bill Camarato and his sister Judy Camarato.
