Ronald D. Thomsen

Ronald D. Thomsen, age 79, of Waukegan, passed away on March 1, 2017. He was born on October 15, 1937 to Andrew and Gladys (O'Connor) Thomsen. He graduated from Waukegan High School. Ron served in the National Guard, Army. He was married to his wife of 57 years, Barbara Jean (Iles) Thomsen. Ron was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Waukegan. Ron will be especially remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.

Survivors include his wife Barbara J. Thomsen, children Debra (Eric) Williams, Lori (Matthew) Nordigian, David (Christine) Thomsen, Sheri Thomsen; grandchildren Westley (Molly) Williams, Justin (Lauren) Williams, Austin (Megan) Williams, Ashley (Jeff) Wydra, Amanda Nordigian, Alexandra Nordigian, Alyssa Nordigian, Alicia Nordigian, Abigail Nordigian, Ava Nordigian, Anje (Dale) Rawhoof, Olivia Thomsen, great-grandchildren Myka, Reese, Hannahlynn, Harper, Allison, Owen, Presley (expected in May), Hannah and Russell. He is also survived by his brothers Andrew (Barbara) Thomsen, Thomas (Mary) Thomsen and Robert Thomsen and his dog Lulu. Ron was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Gladys Thomsen, sisters Barbara Thomsen and Evie Kalix, daughter-in-law Janice Thomsen.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017 at Peterson & Patch Funeral Home, 408 N. Sheridan Rd. Waukegan, IL 60085 at 10 am with his funeral service beginning at 12 noon. Burial will be at North Shore Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to Christ Episcopal Church in Waukegan.
