Stanley Schabowicz Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Stanley Schabowicz, 89, of Waukegan passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2015. Born in Pajeczno, Poland on March 5, 1926, Stanley came to the United States post WWII after suffering a serious injury as a contract employee of the United States Army. Following a long treatment, recovery and graduation from the University of Minnesota Duluth, Mr. Schabowicz went on to serve for many years as Administrative Assistant to the Sheriff of Lake County Illinois and Director of the Work Release Program of Lake County at Camp Logan. He was a member of the Waukegan City Club, Waukegan Yacht Club and St.Dismas Catholic Church in Waukegan. Stanley was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years and love of his life, Josephine Teresa (nee Bartos) Schabowicz in 2012. He is survived by his sisters, Ernesty Izydortzyk of Poland, Alfreda Szperling of Tucson, Arizona and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Memorial mass will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 7, 2015 at St. Dismas Church 2600 Sunset Ave Waukegan. Burial will be alongside his wife Josephine at St. Casimir’s Cemetery in Marion Heights, Pennsylvania. Peterson & Patch Funeral Home 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan, and C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, PA., are assisting the family with arrangements.
