Teresa Mercado Obituary (2022)

Teresa Mercado, age 76, formerly of Waukegan, IL passed away Sunday March 20th, 2022. She was a loving and caring person. She always put people before herself, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. She worked as a nurse in her younger years, and later on was a caregiver and housekeeper. She enjoyed her last days in retirement with family and friends. Preceded in death by her parents Elizabeth and Pilar Fernandez, husband Delfino V. Mercado. She leaves behind two children, Rose Ayala and Freddie Lino, six grandchildren Frano, Jose, Yesenia Ocampo, Alexander, Nicholas, Maximus Lino, four great grandchildren Daman, Christian Ocampo, Julian and Adesa Lino. Many nieces, nephews, goddaughter Maricela Lopez, godson Valentine Escobedo, five sisters Hovita Denis, Velen Torres, Margaret Torres, Patricia Escobedo, Cecilia Randoph, two brothers Pilar Fernandez Jr. and Paul Fernandez. Visitation will be held on March 24th, 2022, from 5:00pm - 8:00pm at Peterson & Patch Funeral Home located at 408 North Sheridan Road Waukegan, IL 60085 There will be a private burial held at a later time.
